Like many pregnancies can be mine was also a little rocky in the first trimester, specifically weeks 7-13, and my nausea and smell/food aversions went away fully at week 15/16.
I’m sharing some products that helped get me through the tough days, got me more comfortable, and also anything else I found helpful.
With any skincare products or medications be sure to double check with your OB for what’s best for you!
I had a hard time (have a hard time my entire life) swallowing large pills, so I struggled with finding a prenatal + iron supplement that worked for me. Once I was able to get past the strong sugar aversion I had all of my first trimester and then some I started taking these prenatal gummies + this liquid iron supplement.
These dramamine chewables surprisingly got me through some of my more nauseous days and worked fast & well. Highly recommend.
I read that this bio oil + belly butter is great for moisturizing stretching skin and helps to prevent stretch marks. Have been using it since around week 20ish all over my chest and tummy, morning and night if I can remember. So far, so good.
I bought this face wash around week 16 to help with melasma (I normally struggle with this outside of pregnancy). And just started using these pregnancy safe brightening pads.
I asked for this Vitamin C serum for Christmas as it’s supposed to really help with keeping melasma at bay. Started it on 1/1. I’ll keep you posted in a couple of months.
My favorite eye masks (keep in fridge) + ice roller helped with any headaches I had in the first trimester & sleepless nights basically the entirety of my pregnancy thus far.
I had a hard time drinking enough water in first trimester, especially if it was in a plastic cup, so weird, but now I’m trying to drink this jug of water each day or at least every other day.
My OB recommended this book to read. She said it’s old school but it’s still relevant.
All things comfy and loose and that don’t squeeze my belly I am all for. Enter this oversized sweater + buttery soft leggings. So so comfy. I sized up 2 sizes in the leggings just in case I need the fit towards the end of my pregnancy. Speaking of comfy I stopped wearing my regular underwire bras around 2 months or so into pregnancy and instead my go-to has been this seamless padded bralette. Comes in lots of colors.
I know some women experience back problems and other ailments but I am very thankful that I have not so far, but I do toss and turn a lot at night when I sleep. Not sure why. So Schuyler ordered this pregnancy pillow for me and I love the snug feeling it gives me on both sides when I sleep on my side. It does seem to help some. It’s so important to remember that every pregnancy is different, so try not to compare yourself to anyone’s experience. If there’s anything else you think is helpful to share leave it in the comments!
