Let’s talk Levi’s. Raise your hand (virtually) if you haven’t worn a pair of Levi’s since you were an adolescent, and they were probably hand me downs? My hand is for sure raised here! You are not alone, and the once infamous brand that was in every household over the years swiftly was just a name left in the wind. Or a donated pair of jeans to Goodwill.
Well, enter 2017 and this pair. I don’t know about you but I have not noticed a pair of Levi’s jeans on the market since the above time in life until this pair started popping up everywhere. I remember when I first saw them online I thought they looked GREAT on the model. Tall, thin, and the small cuff she had on the bottom looked like perfection to me. I did not initially scoop these up though. It took me a while until I was like “You know what, I actually like those, and want to see what Levi’s will be like as a now 31 year old.” So I got a pair of my own. With most trends, I normally do not immediately jump on the bandwagon, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Can you imagine if we all did jump on every new trend’s train? We would be left with not another hanger to spare, a jam-packed closet with God knows what in it, and a lot of guilt, if you are like me. More on this later.
Although I am no model and have no model body, which I am 100% fine with(!) I actually really liked these jeans on me, and I like them even better with a shorter hem. So I cut them. You may think grabbing a pair of scissors and immediately taking to your brand new nearly $100 jeans is crazy, trust me, I had a brief moment of “Should I?” myself, but luckily one trend I AM on board with is the raw hem trend. I love it because it’s the furthest from perfection, but somehow looks so good paired with classic pieces and leaves you with very put-together looks. What do you think about it? Are you into it too?
Because these are high-waisted I thought it was a no brainer to pair these jeans with a new high-neck, striped, sleeveless, crop top. And there you have a great little summer outfit. Wear it with flat slide sandals during the day grocery shopping/lunching/champagne sipping, you name it, and throw on these (my summer 2017 FAVORITE mules that you better believe I’ll wear into the fall) neutral mules for a fun little date night, or just to feel a little jazzy. Lucky for you these mules are currently about 65% off, only $31, available in just a couple of sizes, and also come in black!! I can’t recommend them enough. They are incredibly comfortable, and this is coming from a girl that seems to only buy shoes that decide to give her blisters. No bueno.
I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I spent mine at a sweet friend’s baby shower, where our whole hometown was also in attendance. 😉 We like to joke and call her Mrs. Lake Charles (where I’m from) since she knows everyone! I am gearing up for a couple of days of work before I head off to Houston for a conference that really is just a fun break from the daily grind. I have some informative posts for you that are in the works–think back a few paragraphs above where I let you know “more on this later.”
Thanks for stopping by and reading–let me know what you think about Levi’s making a comeback? Are you a fan?
