What is it about being next to the ocean that makes you want to match your surroundings—better yet, the water? I don’t know the answer to that, but I do know that I do this, and want to bring out all soft colors that remind me of the shades of the water, the sunrises, the sunsets, and the sand!
I don’t normally wear bright colors very often, but I fell in love with this skirt and had to have it AND find a way to make it work in my more muted wardrobe. It’s an older purchase, it has pockets, and it’s high-waisted. I also (surprise) don’t love dresses and skirts with pockets, since I often say out loud “I don’t need any extra fabric around my hips.” Anyone else feel this way? #girlproblems
And these shoes, oh these shoes! I bought them shamelessly just to wear for a Cinco de Mayo event a few years ago, and love to bring them out every now and again. They also like to steal the show, but I think they and the blue skirt complement each other well. Let’s not forget that every pair of Sam Edelman shoes I’ve ever bought feels like you’re walking on clouds. Huge win in my book!
